A 26-year-old woman was killed and her partner seriously injured in a stabbing incident late Monday in São Mamede de Infesta, Matosinhos. The attacker is believed to be the victim’s former partner, who is currently at large.
The couple was attacked with a knife in their own home. The alert was raised at 19:40, as confirmed by the Notícias ao Minuto with a source from the Public Security Police (PSP).
The 25-year-old suspect immediately fled the scene.
The seriously injured man was transported to Hospital de São João in Porto, where he remains hospitalized.
Present at the scene were, in addition to the PSP, firefighters from São Mamede de Infesta and the GNR, which also participated in the search efforts. The suspect has not yet been located, prompting authorities to launch a manhunt in the north of the country.
The case has since been taken over by the Judiciary Police.
