“It’s not when we’re in a tight spot that we should be improvising reforms that transform our structures,” stated Luís Montenegro during the inauguration of the Keenfinity factory expansion in Ovar, Aveiro district.
The Prime Minister added that it is during periods of political, economic, and financial stability like the current one that the country should take the opportunity to calmly, serenely, and thoroughly identify specific areas for rule changes aimed at increasing competitiveness and fostering greater dynamism.
“Why shouldn’t we take this opportunity to push a bit further so that instead of growing 2% annually, we grow by 3%, 3.5%, or 4% and, instead of the minimum wage being 920 euros, it could be 1500, and instead of the average salary being 1500, it could be 2000 or 2500,” he questioned.
On the same occasion, Keenfinity’s Ovar factory director, António Pereira, stated that the goal of the factory expansion is to double sales volume and create highly qualified jobs, increasing the team by 480 employees in addition to the current 1,100 workers.
António Pereira also noted that this new infrastructure is a prerequisite for the company to expand its Research & Development (R&D) activities and operations until 2030.
With a trajectory of over 50 years and Bosch manufacturing experience, Keenfinity’s factory in Ovar offers comprehensive electronic manufacturing services.
The new 3,800 square meter production area—equivalent to 14 tennis courts—enhances the factory’s capacity to accommodate additional R&D and operations activities for various sectors, representing an investment of approximately 19 million euros, including 14.7 million euros in equipment.
The Keenfinity group provides products and systems for security and communication, covering video surveillance and sound systems, intrusion systems, access control, and professional communication systems.
