Power has been disrupted for 1,800 consumers across the municipalities of Valença, Vila Nova de Cerveira, Caminha, Castro Laboreiro in Melgaço, and Arcos de Valdevez, with no timeline for restoration.
The interruption also affected areas of the municipality of Ponte de Lima.
The outage occurred at 12:19 PM at the hydroelectric plant located in France, in the parish of Sopo, Vila Nova de Cerveira. The causes remain unknown.
