Transport disruptions are expected in Lisbon on Thursday due to a 24-hour strike by Carris and a nighttime assembly at the Metro, coinciding with the city’s largest festive day, Santo António.
Minimum services will be maintained as per an arbitration tribunal decision, ensuring a 50% operation of certain routes, specifically routes 703, 708, 717, 726, 735, 736, 738, 751, 755, 758, 760, and 767. Carris has committed to minimizing any inconvenience caused to customers during this partial service disruption.

After a week of partial stoppages, Carris workers resume their protests with a full 24-hour strike demanding a reduction in working hours to 35 hours weekly, a change set for implementation by 2025.
Meanwhile, Lisbon Metro employees have scheduled a general assembly from 9:15 PM Thursday to 2:30 AM Friday, following a meeting called by the company’s Board of Directors on the June 10 holiday.
