The leader of Chega delivered stern criticism of Luís Montenegro’s administration during his visit to the Amadora-Sintra hospital on Tuesday.

André Ventura stated that the health sector in Portugal is deteriorating and expressed skepticism regarding the government’s promises for improvement.

When asked about his disagreement with the Prime Minister’s assertion that healthcare is improved this year, Ventura remarked that only Montenegro, metaphorically wearing “orange-tinted glasses,” could perceive an enhanced national service, arguing that the entire country understands otherwise.

Addressing the press, the Chega leader challenged the Prime Minister to refrain from “propaganda” and concentrate on the “state of health” during the State of the Nation debate scheduled for this Thursday, urging the presentation of a concrete plan for addressing healthcare issues, particularly improvements projected for the next six months.

Ventura further commented that if the government is unable to devise or implement solutions, they should “allow others” to step in, assuring that if needed, Chega would present the plan to the Assembly to resolve healthcare problems.

André Ventura’s visit to the Amadora-Sintra Hospital occurred a day after a new hospital center opened in the region, attended by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health.
