Arriving at the Socialist Party’s headquarters for the election night, just before 7:00 PM, Pedro Nuno Santos expressed a sense of calm anticipation as he awaited the results.
“I’m not nervous, just expectant. Waiting. As you know, last year we also had exit poll results that were very different from the final results, which means we should wait patiently,” he reiterated in response to persistent questions from journalists.
The PS leader stated that he would “wait patiently with the national secretariat” at the Altis Hotel in Lisbon, the traditional location for the PS on election nights, and only mentioned to journalists that he had spent a good day with his family.
