A recent analysis of the water quality at the beach has shown that microbiological values are within quality standards, leading to the lifting of the swimming advisory, a source from the Douro Port Authority confirmed.
This marked the fourth instance since the start of the bathing season that swimming was discouraged at Matosinhos beach, according to the National Water Resources Information System (SNIRH).
In 2024, the water at Matosinhos beach was classified as poor, after being rated acceptable in 2023 and good in 2022.
In the municipality of Matosinhos in the Porto district, the bathing season opened on June 14 and will conclude on September 14.
