A 38-year-old man was arrested last Friday, November 14, on drug trafficking charges after being caught by the Public Security Police (PSP) traveling in the trunk of a car in Lisbon.
In a statement released on Monday, the PSP explained that the foreign national was found “traveling in the trunk” of a car during an inspection operation in the Lisbon parish of Carnide.
The man was “found in possession of narcotics and money resulting from the sale of the product,” namely a plastic package containing 95.23 grams of hashish (190.46 doses) and a 20-euro note.
Subsequently, the suspect “admitted having more product at his residence” and authorized “a search of his home,” where officers discovered a suitcase containing “58 plastic packages with 6087.48 grams of hashish, corresponding to 12174.96 doses.”
The suspect was arrested and the PSP seized the drugs, the suitcase, and the money.
Following a preliminary judicial hearing, the man was remanded in custody.
