The Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) predicted heavy rainfall starting from early morning, particularly in the North and Central regions. Wind gusts were expected to range from 80 to 100 kilometers per hour along the western coastline and in highlands, along with rough seas due to the passage of Storm Ivo.

As of Thursday at 6 AM, the Lisbon district is under a red warning due to maritime agitation, with forecasted northwest waves reaching heights of 7 to 8 meters, potentially peaking at 15 meters. This warning will transition to orange until 3 PM on Thursday and then to yellow until midnight on Friday.

Wind Warnings

An orange warning is currently in effect due to northwesterly winds, with gusts reaching up to 105 km/h along the coast and in mountainous areas. This warning will remain valid until midnight on Thursday, after which it will shift to yellow until 3 PM on the same day.

The red warning is issued by the IPMA in cases of extreme weather risk, while the orange warning indicates a moderate to high risk situation, and the yellow warning serves as a caution for specific activities dependent on the weather conditions.
