
The Blue Line of the Lisbon Metro experienced a service interruption for over 20 minutes on Friday morning due to a “train malfunction.”
“Due to a train malfunction, the service is interrupted. At the moment, it is not possible to predict the duration of the interruption, which may be prolonged. Thank you for your understanding,” read a notice posted on the social network X at 8:04 AM.
Moments earlier, at 8:00 AM, Lisbon Metro had reported “disruptions in service” and that wait times could be “longer than usual.”

The Lisbon Metro operates daily with four lines: Yellow (Rato-Odivelas), Green (Telheiras-Cais do Sodré), Blue (Reboleira-Santa Apolónia), and Red (Aeroporto-São Sebastião).
The service usually operates between 6:30 AM and 1:00 AM.
