Compared to the last PSP report, which was made on Saturday and related to Friday, the number of detentions decreased – as on Friday 45 people were detained.
The Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) announced this Sunday that they arrested 39 people in the last 24 hours.
The information is revealed by the authority, in a statement sent to Notícias ao Minuto. The PSP also said that the arrests were made as part of several police operations that took place between midnight and 23:59 on Saturday, March 25. The number of detainees decreased compared to the last count, which was made on Saturday and related to Friday, as 45 people were arrested on Friday.
Most of the arrests (16) were for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, but there were other reasons that increased this number. “Six for driving without a license, six for drug trafficking, three for disobedience, one for resisting and coercing an officer, three for possession of or trafficking in prohibited weapons, two for crimes against property and two for serving an arrest warrant,” reads the release.
Following these arrests, police officers also seized five white guns, 80 doses of cannabis, 6 doses of heroin and 16 doses of cocaine.
“During this period, there were 41 traffic accidents, resulting in 24 minor injuries and 1 serious injury,” he concluded.
