Lisbon stock exchange closes down in counter-cycle with the rest of Europe

Das 16 companies listed on PSI, 10 rose, while six fell.

Leading the declines was EDP Renováveis, which dropped 3.30% to 12.88 euros.

Among the major losses were Navigator, which fell 2.67% to 2.99 euros, and EDP, which decreased 2.32% to 4.30 euros.

With declines below 1% were Semapa (17.92 euros), Sonae SGPS (1.43 euros), and Altri (5.01 euros).

On the opposite side, leading the gains was Teixeira Duarte, which rose 3.55% to 0.70 euros.

Notable increases included Galp, which gained 3.49% to 17.50 euros, Mota-Engil, which climbed 2% to 6.13 euros, and BCP, which added 1.50% to 0.77 euros.

Galp announced today before market opening that it achieved a profit of 973 million euros in the first nine months of the year, an increase of 9% over the same period in 2024, with a record 407 million euros in the third quarter (+53%).

With gains under 1% were Jerónimo Martins (20.42 euros), CTT (7.27 euros), Ibersol (10.15 euros), REN (3.13 euros), Corticeira Amorim (7.35 euros), and NOS (3.74 euros).

The profit of NOS fell 9.2% in the first nine months of the year compared to the same period in 2024, to 182 million euros, due to the absence of extraordinary results last year, the company announced today after market closing.

Elsewhere in Europe, Madrid advanced 0.87%, Frankfurt 0.28%, Paris 0.16%, and London 0.09%.
