Lisbon Stock Exchange closes in the ‘red’ with Mota-Engil leading losses

The PSI index saw 15 listed companies, with 11 closing down, three up, and Ibersol remaining unchanged at 9.48 euros.

Shares of Mota-Engil ended at 4.53 euros, dropping 3.90%, despite the construction firm reporting that first-quarter profits attributable to the group reached 27 million euros, marking a 37% year-on-year increase.

Among the 11 companies closing in the red, Altri fell 2.55% to 5.36 euros, Semapa decreased 1.44% to 17.74 euros, Corticeira Amorim dropped 0.89% to 7.76 euros, and Sonae SGPS declined 0.79% to 1.25 euros.

EDP Renováveis and REN also closed down, losing 0.69% to 8.65 euros and 0.51% to 2.90 euros, respectively.

Other companies with less than a 0.50% decline included CTT (7.33 euros), Navigator (3.52 euros), NOS (3.83 euros), and Galp (13.66 euros).

On the gaining side, Jerónimo Martins led with an increase of 1.72% to 22.48 euros, followed by BCP, up 1.34% to 0.68 euros, and EDP, which rose 0.43% to 3.52 euros.

In Europe, the session also turned ‘green’ with Frankfurt rising 0.83%, London 0.69%, and Madrid 0.13%. Conversely, Paris saw a slight decline, falling 0.02%.
