
The PSI benchmark index fell by 0.57% to 7,732.97 points, with nine of the 15 listed companies in the ‘red’ and the rest in positive territory.
Leading the declines were the EDP group, with the subsidiary EDP Renováveis losing 2.67% to 10.21 euros, and the parent company EDP falling 1.79% to 3.78 euros.
Other significant losses included Corticeira Amorim, which fell by 1.35% to 8.04 euros, and Altri, which decreased by 1.10% to 4.93 euros.
In contrast, CTT’s shares rose by 3.46% to 7.77 euros, while Mota-Engil gained 2.56% to 4 euros, and BCP lost 0.24% to 0.67 euros.
Elsewhere in Europe, the day mostly saw gains, with the Paris exchange up 0.35%, Frankfurt increasing by 1.20%, and Madrid rising by 0.73%.
The focus this week is on trade tensions, as the United States has started sending letters to countries without trade agreements to notify them about the tariffs that will be imposed from August 1.
This development follows months of pressure and adjustments that led to agreements with the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and China.
Meanwhile, the European Union, Japan, South Korea, and India are seeking to expedite their negotiations.
