
Around 09:25 in Lisbon, the PSI reversed the opening trend and rose to 8,452.16 points, a new high since January 2010, with eight stocks rising, four declining, and four remaining unchanged (Ibersol at 10.05 euros, Jerónimo Martins at 21.98 euros, NOS at 3.67 euros, and Teixeira Duarte at 0.68 euros).
Shares of CTT and REN increased by 1.56% to 7.22 euros and 1.51% to 3.37 euros, respectively.
On Tuesday, CTT announced that it aims to grow to achieve Iberian leadership in e-commerce logistics, according to its 2026-28 strategy, and will intensify its core investment during this period.
CTT’s investment (Capex) for the 2026-28 triennium is expected to reach 50 to 55 million euros annually, which includes increasing capacity throughout the Iberian Peninsula, while maintaining “the objective to pay between 35 and 50% of net income in recurring dividends.”
Following CTT and REN, shares of Galp, Corticeira Amorim, and Sonae also rose, specifically by 0.74% to 17.73 euros, 0.58% to 6.93 euros, and 0.43% to 1.40 euros.
Shares of EDP Renováveis, Navigator, and EDP showed more moderate increases, 0.39% to 13.00 euros, 0.33% to 3.02 euros, and 0.02% to 4.36 euros, respectively.
Conversely, Semapa and Altri shares decreased by 0.67% to 17.80 euros and 0.41% to 4.87 euros.
The other two declining stocks were BCP (-0.29% to 0.77 euros) and Mota-Engil (-0.26% to 5.78 euros).
European stock markets opened lower today, with investors awaiting Eurozone and various European countries’ October PMI data.
Commercially, the U.S. Supreme Court is set to rule on the legality of Donald Trump’s tariffs today.
While the tariffs might be deemed illegal, analysts believe the Court could opt for replacement tariffs.
Wall Street futures, after closing in red, now show a slight drop for the Nasdaq and a 0.21% increase for the Dow Jones.
Brent crude, a European oil benchmark for January 2026 delivery, is declining to 64.36 dollars from 64.44 dollars on Tuesday.
The euro was advancing to 1.1492 dollars in the Frankfurt currency market, up from 1.1484 dollars on Tuesday, and it reached a new four-year high of 1.1865 dollars on September 16.
