Lisbon stock market closes higher and follows gains of main European stock exchanges

Among the 15 listed companies on the national benchmark index, ten ended the session on a positive note while five recorded losses.

Leading the gains was Corticeira Amorim, which rose by 2.98% to 7.61 euros, followed by Sonae, up 2.38% to 1.12 euros, and EDP Renováveis, which appreciated by 1.41% to 8.26 euros.

Companies recording increases above 1% also included Semapa, which gained 1.34% to 16.39 euros, and CTT, with its shares advancing by 1.04% to 7.77 euros.

On the downside, Banco Comercial Português (BCP) stood out with a fall of 1.81% to 0.56 euros, alongside Ibersol, which lost 1.69% to 9.30 euros, and Mota-Engil, down 1.02% to 3.49 euros.

Additionally, REN saw a depreciation of 0.69% to 2.90 euros.

Across the European continent, most markets experienced gains, with Frankfurt adding 0.32%, London increasing by 0.37%, and Paris climbing by 0.50%.

Conversely, the Madrid stock exchange closed in the negative, declining by 0.59%.
