On Sunday, social media footage captured two robberies occurring within minutes of each other in Lisbon. Reports indicate that the incidents unfolded shortly after midnight on Saturday, on the street connecting Praça da Figueira and Martim Moniz.
The footage, recorded from a vehicle, shows the first victim, believed to be a tourist, being robbed. The man attempts to pursue the thief but stumbles and falls, sustaining a nose injury.
Subsequent images depict the man surrounded by three individuals—a couple and another person. Though conversing in the video, the third individual eventually snatches the woman’s bag and flees, an act also captured by the vehicle’s camera.
Authorities had already been notified, and the Public Security Police (PSP) promptly arrived at the scene. One suspect, a 20-year-old male, was identified and arrested in Baixa Pombalina with the assistance of the vehicle footage. He appeared in court and was remanded in custody.
The first suspect remains unidentified.
Notícias ao Minuto reached out to authorities for more details. A source from the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP stated they had “no information” on the incident.
