The spokesperson for Livre, Rui Tavares, submitted the party’s candidate lists for the regions of “Lisboa, Europe and outside Europe” on Monday. These lists feature key figures such as Patrícia Gonçalves, Bárbara Tengarrinha, and Camila Ferreira dos Santos, among others, who aim to secure positions in the Assembly of the Republic.
“These lists comprise individuals from diverse backgrounds and professional paths, equipping them to address various issues effectively, thus serving the country well. This stands as the best advertisement for a party. What’s most gratifying to hear while working in the Assembly of the Republic is that, despite differing opinions, they appreciate our work, and Livre aims to maintain that sentiment,” Rui Tavares articulated to journalists during the list submission event at the Palácio da Justiça in Lisbon.
Rui Tavares highlighted that Livre’s goal is to “expand the parliamentary group” to participate in “more commissions” and “better serve the people.”
“People want to see who else is on our lists to ensure they are well-served,” the Livre spokesperson added.
The snap elections were announced by the President of the Republic on March 13, two days following the Parliament’s rejection of a no-confidence motion against the Government, which led to the resignation of the PSD/CDS Government.
