A cooperation protocol was signed between the Faro Union of Parishes and the N. Sra. dos Navegantes association for the use of a building in Culatra, with a view to installing the Local Civil Protection Unit (ULPC) managed by the parish council of Faro.

At the beginning of the year, the creation of the ULPC of Culatra Island was approved, which has an employee working permanently. According to the Parish Union, the unit aims to “prevent collective risks and the occurrence of serious accidents or disasters, as well as provide support, protection and assistance to the entire population of Culatra, Hangares and Farol, and all those who visit the island.
