The Local Health Unit (ULS) of Loures-Odivelas announced that the phased restoration of systems, carried out throughout today, has gradually reinstated functionality.
This process “is expected to be completed by early morning, with all systems aiming for normal operation by the morning of the 4th” [Thursday], stated the ULS in a communiqué.
On Monday, a failure in computer equipment forced Hospital Beatriz Ângelo to activate its contingency plan, resulting in the postponement of scheduled consultations and surgeries and the redirection of non-critical patients to the emergency services of other hospital units.
The IT failure complicated access to patients’ clinical records, the hospital explained, ensuring that activities involving critical and hospitalized patients, as well as pediatric, gynecological, and obstetrics emergency services, were always maintained.
ULS added that all activities not carried out due to the IT failure will be rescheduled in priority slots and confirmed that the General Emergency service was never closed at any point.
