The Portuguese Professional Football League (LPF) announced today that its business plan and budget for 2023/24 includes the largest-ever distribution of funds to sports companies, exceeding nine million euros (ME).

The document, which was unanimously approved at the organization’s general meeting held today in Porto, presents a forecast for operating results of over one million euros (1.11 ME) and overall sales of over 26 ME (26.48 ME).

“The path of sustainability and development of the PSSA that has marked the last four years is maintained and definitively asserts itself as the great engine for the development of Portuguese soccer, as this budget for 2023/24 also provides for the largest distribution ever made to sports companies, in excess of nine million euros,” reads a statement sent out by the entity.

It should be noted that the document compiles, for the first time, the budget of the LPFP, as well as entities associated with its business group, such as the Football Foundation, Liga Portugal Business School, Liga Portugal Centralização, Liga Portugal Comercial and Liga Portugal Infraestruturas.

The business plan for 2023/24 is based on the strategic plan drawn up by the LPFP for the next four years, reflecting key vectors such as “the fan as the central axis of the sporting event, the valorization of professional competitions, the LPFP as the central agent for the growth of professional soccer in Portugal, the internationalization of the LPFP brand, the centralization of audiovisual rights and the reduction of contextual costs for professional soccer”.
