“This unprecedented collaboration stems from the mutual recognition that the challenges of post-pandemic economic recovery and the current international context demand greater coordination, dialogue, and cooperation between the private sectors,” stated the president of the Portugal-Angola Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIPA), adding: “By joining forces, the involved chambers send a clear signal of commitment to the sustainable development of Angola, with the strengthening of business confidence and the recognition of the role of foreign investment in the country.”
The groundbreaking partnership between the CCIPA and the Angola-Italy Chamber of Commerce, the United Kingdom-Angola Chamber of Commerce, the France-Angola Business Club (CEFA), the German Economy Delegation in Angola (AHK Angola) and the Swiss Business Council Angola “emerged from the common desire to strengthen cooperation between the European and Angolan private sectors at a particularly symbolic moment, which is Angola’s 50th anniversary of independence”, said João Traça.
More than just celebrating, “this is a time to renew commitments and create joint platforms for dialogue, trust, and investment during the traditional Business Networking meeting [this afternoon in Luanda], which allows for the multiplication of the event’s reach, representation, and impact, offering a more integrated and multilateral approach,” added the lawyer.
The event, taking place at the EPIC Sana Luanda Hotel, is described as “a privileged space to stimulate inter-business dialogue, generate new commercial partnerships, and create bridges between the European and Angolan markets at a time when Angola seeks to diversify its economy and consolidate a new phase of growth,” concluded João Traça.
The CCIPA marks its 38th anniversary today, with approximately 175 Portuguese and Angolan members.
