The new album by Rosalía was released this Friday, and the fifteen tracks that make up the album Lux can be listened to here.
The 33-year-old Spaniard captured everyone’s attention when she released the single Berghain on October 27, featuring collaborations with Björk and Yves Tumor.
The new album reveals a different Rosalía, as she sings in 13 languages, including Portuguese. Carminho features on the album with the song Memória. The fado singer took to Instagram to mark the release, writing: “Thank you, Rosalía, for this beautiful place you have created. Fado loves you.”
Parts of the album were leaked to some users, as reported by El País on Wednesday. The Spanish newspaper noted that on Tuesday, the second single from the album, Reliquia, appeared on Spotify but was removed shortly after. Columbia Records has not confirmed whether it was a mistake.
Alongside Carminho, Björk, and Yves Tumor, the fourth studio album features artists such as Estrella Morente and Sílvia Pérez Cruz. The album also includes performances by the London Symphony Orchestra, directed by Icelandic composer Daníel Bjarnason, the children’s choir Escolania de Montserrat, and the Chamber Choir of Palau de la Música Catalana.
This album merges organic and analog instruments with digital elements, marking a new direction for Rosalía, stepping away from her usual style.
