The gaming sector generated 21.1 billion patacas (€2.28 billion) in November, following a month in which it recorded the highest monthly revenue since October 2019 at 24.1 billion patacas (€2.6 billion), as reported by Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
The gross revenue accumulated over the first 11 months of the year reached 226.5 billion patacas (€24.4 billion), slightly below the 226.8 billion patacas (€24.5 billion) collected throughout the entire year of 2024.
Compared to the same period last year, the accumulated revenue from January to November represents an 8.6% increase over the 208.6 billion patacas (€22.5 billion) collected in the first eleven months of 2024.
The Macau Government initially projected total revenues of 240 billion patacas (€25.9 billion) for 2025 in its budget, representing a 6% rise compared to the previous year.
However, on June 11, the Government approved a revised budget in parliament, reducing the initial revenue forecast by 4.56 billion patacas (€492.7 million).
The sector’s performance to date, which accounts for 83.3% of the region’s public revenues, suggests that the gross gaming revenue in 2025 will surpass the initial budget estimate significantly.
Macau, the world’s gaming capital, is the only place in China where casino gaming is legal.
