The leader of the Left Bloc (BE), Mariana Mortágua, expressed her sorrow on Monday over the death of a young man in Braga, who was fatally stabbed after reportedly alerting others that a group was spiking drinks with drugs.
In a post on the social media platform X, Mortágua stated that “sexist violence destroys generations and kills both women and men,” adding that “its amplification through social media increases brutality.”
“That a young person could have been murdered for being a decent person is a devastating example of this,” she added.
Mariana Mortágua also extended her “heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and friends” in her message.
