It seems that part of the filming will take place at Ponta de São Lourenço, in Caniçal.

Some of Madeira’s landscapes will serve as a backdrop for the new movie in the ‘Star Wars’ saga.

As reported by some regional media, namely RTP Madeira and Antena 1, filming will take place on both the north and south coasts of the island.

For the collection of images, reveal the same sources, several elements of the production team of the new film will be in Madeira until the end of March.

Given the size of the project, there will be several people on the ground, and the filming is likely to cause some constraints on communication routes.

In the publication, they refer to a notice from the Regional Roads Directorate regarding the closure of Regional Road 214, from Quinta do Lorde to the Abra Bay roundabout, between the 11th and 14th of this month, a situation that they say, quote, “is motivated by the filming of a series of international fame and strategic interest for the region.

Some structures are already in place on the site.
