“The missing Polish citizen, aged 31, was found deceased in the riverbed of Ribeira Grande, municipality of Santana [north of the island]”, a source informed the Lusa agency.
The same source stated that the Polish man was found “by a Madeiran guide accompanying a private search team”.
“Currently, the PSP, along with the Santana firefighters, are on-site to retrieve the body”, the source added.
The man was reported missing on Monday in the mountains of Madeira, and the PSP suspended the search two days later, noting that the necessary investigations were “exhausted on existing pedestrian paths within the area of cellular triangulation”.
A 31-year-old Polish tourist, who was on vacation in Madeira, has been missing since the morning of Sunday, November 2. The family is desperate for news and has made several appeals on social media.
