The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has announced a yellow weather warning effective from midnight to noon on Saturday. This alert is applicable to the northern and southern coasts, as well as the mountainous regions of the Madeira and Porto Santo islands.
Forecasts indicate the possibility of heavy showers that may be accompanied by hail and thunderstorms.
The yellow warning, the least severe on a three-tier scale, is issued when there is a potential risk affecting certain weather-dependent activities.
