The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) announced a yellow weather warning for the southern coast and mountainous regions of Madeira Island, effective from Tuesday to Wednesday, due to expected hot weather conditions.
The warnings will be in effect from 9:00 AM on Tuesday until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, as noted by the IPMA, citing the “persistence of high maximum temperature values.”
The yellow warning, the least severe, is issued by the IPMA when there is a potential risk to certain activities dependent on weather conditions.
According to forecasts available on the institute’s website, the highest maximum temperatures (28 degrees) are expected in Pico do Areeiro and Funchal.

The alerts will be in effect in these eight districts from 9:00 AM next Tuesday until 6:00 PM next Wednesday, according to information released by the IPMA.
