In a statement, the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) announced a significant investment under the Infrastructure and Equipment Programming Law for Security Forces and Services, marked by the signing of 24 protocols today between the General Secretariat of the Ministry and both the National Republican Guard (GNR) and the Public Security Police (PSP).
“The signed protocols will enable the security forces to carry out investments deemed as priorities and urgent, primarily focusing on essential repairs following recent weather events across several GNR and PSP facilities. For the first time, these security forces will directly assume responsibility for their execution,” said the MAI.
In total, the ministry indicates that 15 GNR facilities and nine PSP facilities will be rehabilitated in the municipalities of Aljustrel, Alter do Chão, Aveiro, Bragança, Cascais (Estoril), Chaves, Fornos de Algodres, Gouveia, Guimarães, Lisbon, Marinha Grande, Setúbal, Sintra, Valença, Vila Nova de Gaia, and Viseu.
