The position of Deputy Secretary of State for Internal Administration will be filled by Paulo Simões Ribeiro, who was previously responsible for the State Secretariat for Civil Protection.
Rui Novo e Rocha, an economist and former president of the Municipal Council of Ansião, is the new Secretary of State for Civil Protection.
The new Secretary of State in charge of the Civil Protection portfolio was also president of the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Ansião and president of the board of the Firefighters Federation of the Leiria District.
Telmo Correia remains as Secretary of State for Internal Administration.
The new Minister of Internal Administration is Maria Lúcia Amaral, former Ombudsman.
According to a note published tonight on the website of the Presidency of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa accepted the list of 43 Secretaries of State proposed by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro for the XXV Constitutional Government.
The Secretaries of State will be sworn in at 12:00 on Friday at the Ajuda Palace in Lisbon.
