The Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed on Thursday to Notícias ao Minuto that it is investigating a criminal complaint against four employees of the Child Support Center No. 1, a branch of Casa do Povo de Rabo de Peixe, located on the island of São Miguel in the Azores, for mistreatment of infants under three years of age.
The institution itself reported the incident, as initially disclosed by Açoriano Oriental.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to Notícias ao Minuto the initiation of an investigation based on a “submitted report,” noting that the case is “under investigation” and “subject to judicial secrecy.”
