The Faro District Command reported that on Tuesday, at Faro Airport, a 19-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were detained on suspicion of document forgery, as stated in a PSP release.
According to the security force, the suspects appeared at the airport planning to leave the country, presenting personal documents that showed “strong indications” of being forged. A detailed technical analysis supported these suspicions, leading to their detention.
The PSP subsequently confirmed their true identities, establishing that the individuals are legally permitted to stay in Portugal.
The statement noted that both suspects have been summoned to appear in court today.
