
A man was arrested by the PSP on suspicion of assaulting his ex-partner and fleeing with their two young children in Vila Nova de Gaia, in the Porto district, police announced today.
In a statement, the PSP reported that the 33-year-old suspect was apprehended on Saturday at 1:10 PM.
According to the PSP, the alleged perpetrator forcibly entered the home of his 28-year-old ex-partner, causing damage to the door, and assaulted her.
Subsequently, the man fled with their two children, one 4 months old and the other 3 years old, it was explained.
“During the actions taken, it was determined that the suspect agreed to hand over the younger child,” they highlighted.
After the location of his residence was identified, the suspect appeared with both children and was then detained.
Presented for a preliminary judicial hearing, the man was prohibited from approaching his ex-partner.
