According to a statement from the PSP (Public Security Police), the police action was triggered after a communication received by the Operational Command and Control Center, reporting ongoing assaults inside a residence in this city.

The same statement notes that when officers arrived at the scene, they found the suspect physically assaulting the victims.

“It was necessary to use strictly necessary force to immobilize the aggressor and stop the assaults. During the intervention, the victim confirmed that the physical assaults were a recurring situation and that there was already a previous domestic violence case against the suspect,” explained the PSP.

According to the Police, based on the victims’ account, the aggressor delivered several punches to their chest, face, and upper limbs, causing them severe pain. Additionally, it was reported that the suspect used a large knife to threaten the victims, which was later seized.

After the arrest, the suspect was taken to the Command’s detention rooms and presented to the Bragança Court. The applied precautionary measure was the prohibition of contact with the victims, requiring the suspect to maintain a distance of more than 300 meters, controlled by an electronic bracelet.

The PSP of Bragança reaffirms its commitment to protecting victims of domestic violence, ensuring the rigorous application of the law and providing necessary support to the victims.
