A 45-year-old man was arrested on Monday by the Public Security Police (PSP) for attempting a robbery inside a church in Porto.
In a statement, the PSP explained that the arrest took place at 3:20 AM, and the suspect was “caught in the act” inside the São Bento da Vitória Church.
The man was found with “tools used for the illegal act, specifically for breaking in, forcing entry, and accessing restricted areas.”
The PSP also reported that two individuals accompanying the suspect “managed to escape to an unknown location” upon realizing the arrival of the authorities.
The detained individual appeared before the competent judicial authorities on Monday.
