
A suspect has been arrested on Tuesday by members of the Gouveia GNR Criminal Investigation Unit as part of an investigation into theft crimes.
“The Guard’s officers conducted police inquiries which led to the execution of a house search warrant. This operation enabled the detection of various materials related to cannabis cultivation, and the recovery and seizure of various items connected to the theft crime,” stated the GNR’s Territorial Command of Guarda in a communiqué sent to Lusa agency.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 101 cannabis plants at different stages of growth, various materials used in the cultivation of narcotics, a precision scale, and a mobile phone.
The GNR also seized clothing items, various tools, a hammer, and 80 euros.
The detainee has been named a formal suspect, and the case has been communicated to the Judicial Court of Celorico da Beira.
