A 38-year-old man was arrested by the National Republican Guard (GNR) last Thursday, December 11, on suspicion of drug trafficking in the Mealhada municipality.
In a statement, the GNR reported that after an investigation ongoing for about a year, police efforts resulted in the execution of two search warrants—one residential and one for a commercial establishment.
An arrest warrant was also executed in flagrante delicto.
During the operation, apart from the arrest, authorities seized 1,172 doses of hashish, 736 doses of crack, 40 doses of cocaine, 139 doses of cannabis, 2,025 euros in cash, various tools used for cutting and weighing the narcotics, and several tools used for homemade crack production.
The detainee was named as a defendant and will appear at the Aveiro Judicial Court to determine the enforcement measures.
