The Polícia Judiciária (PJ) arrested a 70-year-old man in Mafra on Friday, suspected of committing sexual assault on a person unable to resist. The victim is his 30-year-old daughter-in-law.
“The suspect took advantage of the victim’s emotionally weakened state and offered her alcoholic drinks until she became incapacitated, at which point he committed the sexual abuses,” the PJ announced in a statement.
Once the victim “regained consciousness,” she went to a hospital, “where the authorities were triggered.”
The PJ conducted an investigation and collected “evidence strongly indicating the suspect’s involvement in the crime of sexual abuse of a person unable to resist.”
He will be presented today for the initial judicial interrogation in the Sintra district court for the application of preventive measures.
