A 44-year-old man was arrested as he attempted to export stolen vehicles from mainland Portugal.
The suspect was caught loading eight cars into a shipping container destined for abroad.
The total estimated value of the seized vehicles is 750,000 euros.
The apprehended vehicles are mid to high-end models, with most registered as stolen.
The alert was raised when authorities received a report of several stolen cars in the Sintra municipality.
The detainee has been named as a defendant, and the case has been reported to the Lisbon Judicial Court.
