A man was detained on Monday by the Territorial Command of Portalegre’s Specialized Victims Support Unit (NIAVE) following an investigation into domestic violence, according to a statement released by the GNR today.
The investigation revealed that the suspect had been physically and psychologically abusive towards the victim. Subsequently, law enforcement officers executed an arrest warrant.
After appearing before the Judicial Court of Portalegre, the individual was released but is prohibited from making any form of contact, whether direct or indirect, with his former partner.
Moreover, the suspect is barred from approaching the victim’s home, workplace, or any other locations she frequents within a 300-meter radius, a restriction enforced through electronic monitoring.
