A 44-year-old man was made a suspect on Tuesday, May 13, following the theft of alcoholic beverages from supermarkets in the municipality of Castelo Branco, as reported by the National Republican Guard (GNR).
In a statement released to the press this Friday, the authority stated that military personnel responded immediately to a “report of a theft at a supermarket” by heading to the scene.
“As a result of police inquiries, it was possible to intercept the suspect and determine that he had committed two other thefts in the municipalities of Covilhã and Guarda,” the GNR reported.
The GNR seized the stolen items, “which were concealed in the suspect’s vehicle,” and the case has been referred to the Judicial Court of Castelo Branco.
