A 30-year-old man has been identified and charged with sexual harassment following the report of two minors in Portimão, the Faro District Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) announced this Friday.
In a statement issued to the media, the PSP detailed that “on September 5, two minors went to the Portimão police station and reported that they had been approached by a man.”
According to the minors, the man was in a car and spoke to them “while touching his genital organ,” prompting them to “immediately move away and seek police assistance.”
Following the report, “investigative efforts were immediately initiated, resulting in the identification of the suspect on September 16, who was then charged.”
During the investigation, authorities also obtained evidence linking the accused to “another criminal situation, with very similar circumstances, also recently recorded in the same city.”
In the statement, the PSP emphasized the “critical importance of promptly reporting all criminal events to the police,” noting that “besides being an act of active citizenship, it allows for quick and effective police action.”
