A 39-year-old man died in the early hours of Sunday on Rua Pinhal da Estacada in Corroios, Seixal, after being struck on the head with a hammer, as confirmed by the Setúbal District Command for Relief Operations (CDOS).
The National Directorate of the Public Security Police (PSP) stated that the homicide took place “on the public road” around 2:00 a.m.
“The fatal victim, a 39-year-old man, was reportedly assaulted with a hammer to the head by a suspect who initially fled but was subsequently intercepted,” a PSP spokesman reported.
The CDOS received the alert at 1:57 a.m.
The scene was attended by the Mixed Firefighters of Seixal, the Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) from Garcia de Orta Hospital, the Public Security Police, and the Judiciary Police, which has already commenced an investigation into the incident.
