Circumstances of death unclear.
Amandied, this Tuesday, in the Óbidos Lagoon, as confirmed by Notícias ao Minuto with a source from the Caldas da Rainha Volunteer Fire Department, which usually has a prevention team on site on the days of greater affluence to the beach.
According to the same source, a person alerted to a “drowned” man in the water and the Fire Department’s prevention team, along with the local lifeguards, took action.
The man was removed from the water and resuscitation maneuvers were started. However, it was not possible to reverse the situation and death was declared on site.
On site was also a VMER, the National Republican Guard (GNR) and the Maritime Police.
The alert will have been given shortly after 13:30 and the victim would have about 65 years.
The circumstances of the occurrence are unclear and an autopsy is essential to clarify the causes of death.
