
The deputy commander of Cruz Verde, Ricardo Costa, confirmed that the death was pronounced at the scene by the Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) team.
Costa indicated that the accident reportedly occurred following the fall of a structure that struck the victim.
The alert for the incident was issued at 4:24 PM, and according to the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection’s website, 11 personnel and four vehicles, including firefighters, INEM, and PSP members, were dispatched to the site.
The municipality of Vila Real expressed its condolences on social media, lamenting the “tragic death of an employee” working on the new municipal pool projects in the city.
“In this moment of grief, we express our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues, sharing in the mourning,” the statement added.
