
A 67-year-old man died after allegedly suffering a heart attack on a fishing boat in the marina of Peniche in the early hours of Sunday.
Following an alert received at 4:45 a.m. through the Peniche Volunteer Firefighters, reporting an unconscious man on a boat, elements of the Peniche Maritime Police Command, an Immediate Life Support (SIV) vehicle, and members of INEM were promptly dispatched to the location, as stated in a report by the National Maritime Authority (AMN).
The victim was attended to on-site by the Peniche Firefighters, who performed resuscitation maneuvers, but were unable to reverse the situation.
The certification of death was carried out by an INEM doctor, and following contact with the Public Ministry, the body was transported to the Forensic Medicine Office in Torres Vedras by the firefighters.
The Peniche Maritime Police Command is handling the incident.
