A man has been detained by the Polícia Judiciária on suspicion of committing sexual coercion and sexual abuse crimes using narcotic substances. The authorities have reported that the incidents took place in Loures on September 5.
The police detail that the suspect, aged 43, allegedly offered a spiked drink to the victim, a 20-year-old foreign woman, to carry out the sexual assaults.
The victim was residing at the suspect’s family home and was responsible for looking after the man’s two children.
During a meal offered by the suspect, he “incapacitated her from resisting by chemical submission, adulterating the drink he provided.” Consequently, “the victim was subjected to acts harmful to her health, temporarily incapacitating her sexual freedom.”
The Polícia Judiciária states that the victim was hospitalized and underwent toxicological tests, which revealed the presence of drugs, confirming the suspect’s criminal intent.
The investigation further disclosed that the perpetrator had previously committed another sexual crime against the same victim in 2020, when she was only 15 years old.
The detainee will face an initial judicial interrogation at the Loures Court for the imposition of an appropriate preventive measure.
