A man was seriously injured on Friday night after falling approximately 15 meters in the parish of Antas, Vila Nova de Famalicão.
The alert was raised at 8:41 PM, and the Famalicão Volunteer Firefighters reported that the victim fell “from a building.”
“The reasons for the fall are currently unknown,” the organization noted in a statement on Facebook.
The man was transported to Famalicão Hospital in a condition considered serious.
The firefighters also urged “the public to cooperate and respect the guidelines of emergency teams” during rescue operations.
“Unfortunately, in this incident, we observed the approach of several civilians to the intervention site, despite our insistent requests to keep a distance. Situations like this hinder the work of the teams, endangering everyone’s safety and compromising the effectiveness of the rescue,” they explained.

The organization, however, expressed their reliance on “the good sense and cooperation of all,” as “respect for intervention zones is an act of citizenship and can make a difference in someone’s life.”
Two vehicles and four operatives from the Famalicão Volunteer Firefighters were mobilized.
The Public Security Police (PSP) of Famalicão took charge of the incident.
