The man reportedly went missing in the town of Possacos at around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Initial searches were conducted on land, but “indications” emerged suggesting he might have gone fishing, leading the focus to shift to the Rabaçal River.
The Sub-regional Command of Alto Tamega and Barroso and the Valpaços Volunteer Firefighters reported that they are awaiting the arrival of a diving team.
As of 1:50 p.m., 28 personnel were involved in the search operation, supported by 12 vehicles.
